Exclusive Jazz Brunch on Lucia Day in Stora Salen

On Lucia Day, December 13, Nalen opens the historic Stora Salen for an exclusive jazz brunch in one of Stockholm’s most legendary jazz venues. Enjoy a table-served brunch featuring new, flavorful dishes while Nalen Restaurant’s talented big band — Ruben Granditsky, Melvin Andreassen, Adil Backman, and Axel Sarby — fills the hall with jazz. During the brunch, a traditional Lucia procession will enter Stora Salen, bringing beautiful song and candlelight.

Nalen, or the National Palace as it is also known, is one of Sweden's oldest and most influential cultural venues with a colourful and fascinating history. Famous jazz musicians and artists such as Monica Zetterlund, Arne Domnérus and Charlie Parker have played here.

The table-served menu includes dishes such as a brunch taco in a lettuce leaf with chickpea croquettes, lemon, and a rich chickpea cream; cold-smoked salmon with hollandaise and poached egg on freshly baked brioche; a platter featuring sticky chicken, pulled beef slider, and veal tri-tip served with French fries, baked tomatoes, barbecue sauce, and chili mayonnaise; followed by a luxurious presentation of Nalen’s desserts — nougat, berries, cheesecake, and chocolate fudge — served with coffee or tea.

As always, we’ll be shaking up brunch cocktails, making sure the bubbles are perfectly chilled, and keeping the wine cellar well-stocked!

Nalen at Regeringsgatan 74 is centrally located in Stockholm, just a stone’s throw from Hötorget, Drottninggatan and Sergels Torg, with easy access to both subway stations and the central station, T-Centralen.
