Welcome to a spectacular, creative, over-the-top, entertaining two night extravaganza in the heart of Stockholm where we celebrate the glamorous, feministic and queer artform Burlesque! SBF is one of the world’s biggest and most renowned burlesque events and invites incredible performers from around the globe to showcase their unique take on this artistic expression. The festival will include everything from classic acts, fan dances, beauty and sexiness, to Drag King and Queen spectacularness, boylesque, nerdlesque, dance, politics, comedy, circus, pole, live music and storytelling.

Saturday, October 3, is the big party night with Octbooberfest Tasseltwirl Championship, a spectacular, international burlesque show and club at the incredible venue Nalen Ballroom.

Welcome also to our Friday Extravaganza October 2, where you are invited to an elegant, seated theater show in the beautiful Södra Teatern. On top of this there is a free day event on Saturday October 3 at Nalen with glamorous shopping, an art exhibition, workshops, book table, and happenings!

Our headliners this year are three of the world’s biggest names within burlesque, and all award winners at the Burlesque Hall of Fame, and other places!

Our host is none other than UK’s Lilly Snatchdragon, an outspoken queer icon setting the bar high and advocating for the global majority in cabaret, and specifically Asian artists with her show collective ‘Bitten Peach’ initiative, among other projects. Vicomte Harbourg, a french dandy and dancer, singer, figureskater, host and burlesque stripper. Frankie Ficticious from the US is a renowned international performer and one of the most decorated artists in the modern burlesque scene. Crowned the official Queen of Burlesque / Miss Exotic World 2019.

They are joined by an incredible and diverse cast, with performers from 16 countries over four continents.

Dress to impress
We do not have an enforced dress code, but life is more fun looking fabulous!

Welcome to the Stockholm Burlesque Festival - a place to be wow’ed, surprised, entertained, but also a safe space to explore. It invites the audience to dress up and take part in a world far out of the ordinary!

Photography of the stage show is not allowed. But feel free to take photos of each other with consent and tag @stockholmburlesquefestival on Instagram.

This is a safe space where respect, love, queerness, feminism and anti-fascism are obvious elements. Everyone is welcome under these principles, and our keywords are come as you want to be and consent is sexy!

The Stockholm Burlesque Festival was founded by Duchess and the Amazing Knicker Kittens in 2010 and is now produced by Bichard Studios: the international artist and performer Fräulein Frauke, and artist and photographer John-Paul Bichard.
